On April 21, Sébastien Guéry, coordinator of the LIFE 4DOÑANA Project and head of the sustainability area at Cabinet of European Initiatives, SL (GIESA) participated in the Seminar ‘Efficient soil and water management’, organized by Ethical Trade Forums. In his speech, he presented this project as a good practice in the use of Decision Support tools (DSS) in water and nutrient management.
Likewise, the seminar featured the testimony of Alba Ramírez, technical manager of the company Flor de Doñana Biorganic, one of the companies participating as a pilot farm in LIFE 4DOÑANA. She exposed, among other aspects, her positive experience with the project.
This is the second time that the LIFE 4DOÑANA project participates in the seminars organized by Ethical Trade Forums.
On March 16, Ana Martín, GIESA’s sustainability consultant, contributed the experience of the LIFE 4DOÑANA project in a round table on ‘Good practices in the Huelva Agrifood sector’, within the framework of the ‘Seminar on Good Agronomic Practices in Irrigation in the surroundings of the Doñana National Park’, organized by Ethical Trade Forums and held in the province of Huelva.
On both occasions, the project has aroused interest from the participants due to the benefits it entails, in terms of sustainability, in the practice of growing strawberries and other red fruits.
The Ethical Trade Forums are defined as a trusted area in which to share ideas and best practices within the agri-food sector and in which producers, importers, supermarkets and relevant actors in the sector coincide. These are spaces for constructive dialogue and in which the LIFE 4DOÑANA project has found an opportunity to communicate both its progress and its acquired learning.
