For the ‘LIFE4DOÑANA’ project, training producers is key to promoting a more sustainable cultivation. For this reason, the consortium has launched a virtual classroom for training and advice on the study areas contemplated in the project.
This platform, free of charge, is accessible to any soft fruit farmer or technician from the area, as well as from other producing regions; it aims at making them aware of improvements in irrigation management and plant nutrition.
The training is divided into three levels: basic, intermediate and advanced. The basic level is focused on “Management and verification of irrigation systems”; the intermediate level focuses on “Management of irrigation and nutrition in crops”; and the advanced level presents ‘Advanced tools for irrigation and nutrition’.
The contents, of a didactic nature, are presented in a clear and simple language, in addition to being close to the reality of the farms and the agronomic practices that are carried out daily in the strawberry and soft fruit farms.
Once the levels have been completed, a certificate will be delivered to the participants in which the hours dedicated to the course and the contents completed will appear.
In addition, there is a forum whose objective is that tutors respond to doubts or questions that arise from students and that, at the same time, they interact with each other and exchange concerns.
The Training Room is available through the project web page (www.life4donana.eu).
